In order to build up your Survival Skills, you must complete three steps: Collect raw material, Craft gear, and Upgrade your gear.
Collecting:
In Shadow of Legend, you can collect all kinds of raw materials, such as Ore, Wood, Cloth and Leather using their corresponding tools, the Pickax, the Saw, Scissors and the Flaying Knife. Tools are available at the Grocer's for 1000 gold pieces each. After collecting the raw materials, visit the corresponding NPC to use the material to craft your gear.
- Lumbering (Lumbering Art):
Step 1: Equip yourself with a saw Step 2: Find the tree and double-click on it to start lumbering until 1 point of saw endurance wears off; click once more to open the Materials Collector to complete the lumbering.Step 3: Click on the object or the Collect All button on the bottom to keep the materials. - The number of items obtained each time is randomly generated between 1 and 3.
- The endurance of the tools reduces by 1 out of 100 after each application.
- The broken tools cannot be repaired and simply cease to exist after its endurance runs out.
- Every 100 collected items come as one unit in a grid, being able to be piled up and split apart.
Crafting:
When you take raw materials that you collected to the corresponding NPC, the NPC can combine or compound the materials for you, and craft it into gear. In order to craft high level gear, you must collect higher grade materials. Crafting is generally divided into Item Crafting and Equipment Crafting.
- Item Crafting (With Wood):
Step 1: Collect plenty of raw materials and find the Carpenter Master in the Birth Village, then open up the Crafting Interface.Step 2: Click on "Craft" to turn the materials on hand into higher grade materials, for example from Pine to Wood Masterpiece Grade 1.- Equipment Crafting (For Weapon):
Step 1: Find the Weaponry Craftsman in the Main City or Birth Village, and then open up the Crafting Interface.Step 2: Make sure that you have all the materials needed for crafting the weapon you want to make.Step 3: Find the Weaponry Craftsman to have the weapon crafted by clicking on "Craft".Crafting Notes:
- Master Carpenter, Master Metallurgist, Master Cobbler and Master Weaver are the different NPCs available for Item and Equipment crafting. Take your Wood, Ore, Hair and Leather respectively to these NPCs.
- Survival Skill gains more experience after each successful craft. You reach higher levels when you craft with higher grade materials.
- Equipment Crafting comes in 5 types.
- Additives required during crafting could be purchased from the Additive Merchant near the crafting site.
- Once a new item comes to being through crafting, an announcement will be issued to keep everybody informed.
Equipment Upgrading:
When you want to upgrade your current equipment, find the NPC, Equipment Update Master, for your class to upgrade your equipment to a higher grade.
Step 1: Find the Equip Refiner, and then open the Weapon Upgrading Interface. Step 2: Make sure that you have all the materials needed for upgrading your weapon.Step 3: Find the Equip Refiner to have the weapon upgraded by clicking on "Craft".Equipment Upgrading Notes:
- Generally, equipment is upgraded every 10 levels, but only Blue Equipment created through Equipment Crafting and Upgrading could be upgraded.
- You will need 2 more kinds of materials needed for Equipment Upgrading. That is equipment to be upgraded and the Smithwork Stones, which are regularly dropped by monsters.
